The plan is to germinate tomatoes in bulk. Twenty-four cups will fit in tray. NO MORE small, rooting/transfer to cups procedure. All seeds planted directly in growing/double cups.
By Feb 10th about a dozen seeds planted directly have popped up. Weather has been chilly, 40’s at night and high 60’s daytime.
Feb 11: Started a second tray of cups with one Kellogg seed in each.
March 3rd –Set up two trays for germination. Planted all but long beans and escalator squash. Ordered seeds.
Mar 7: 3 beefsteak Left tray front small containers
May 21st:
Began germination of 12 Everglade tomatoes.
May 21st: Cukes going crazy. All squash pretty listless. Tomatoes WAY to close together; becoming another tomato jungle with few blossoms. Got a few “lumpyies,” the Kellogg Breakfast, each weighting over a pound. Finally getting a pepper. Long beans lagging but producing a few. Many of squash seeds simply didn’t germinate.
